Every agent desires that he should be able to consign best and that whatever he exports be readily adequate to audience in the apple bazaar afterwards any hassle, quality control, . This is accessible alone if he exports superior articles which accept been activated by a reliable class in his own country.
But the catechism charcoal as to how can we be abiding that the after-effects provided by a assertive lab are absolutely authentic? It is this claim of actuality that armament us to access a lab that is accustomed according to the requirements, quality control, of all-embracing standard, ISO 17025.
For exporters, it is a big cephalalgia whether the artefact their audience are exporting comes up to the requirements of the all-embracing standard. Exporters ability accept aswell acquired accurate affidavit for the same, yet the importer would not necessarily accept aplomb, quality control, that the laboratories' certificates, quality control, acquired will be accepted. For his own satisfaction, he may crave the artefact to be activated again. This creates difficulty, delay, and leads to careless added costs.
The across importer, quality control, on his allotment would be safe from all troubles at his end if he trusts the analysis certificates issued in the exporter's country which is the alone alive way larboard for both the, quality control, parties if they use the casework of accustomed laboratories.
A Civic Accreditation Council (NAC) in any country ensures whether the class is competent to undertake the tests; the accessories acclimated was fit for the purpose; the testing methods were appropriate; the agents accomplished the adapted accustomed of competence; adapted annal were kept; and much, abundant, quality control, more!
ISO 17025 is an all-embracing accustomed that spells out accepted requirements for the adequacy of testing and arrangement laboratories, which are 25 in number: 15, quality control, affect to management, while 10 accord to abstruse side. The accustomed contains all such requirements that testing and arrangement laboratories accept to meet. This would be all-important if the laboratories ambition to authenticate that they accomplish a superior system, are technically competent and are able to accomplish technically accurate results. Any class that fulfils these requirements and accepted by the NAC afterwards due, quality control, assessment, would be declared as an accustomed laboratory.
It may be mentioned that afore opting for accreditation, it would be advantageous, quality control, if a Gap Analysis of the lab is agitated out. It's a one or two days' exercise that apprises the administration of the lab as to area, quality control, the lab stands at present and area it should be as far as all-embracing accustomed was concerned. The getting administering the Gap Analysis gets a fair abstraction as to how abundant efforts would be adapted to accompany the lab up to an adequate akin so as to accede with the 25 requirements of ISO 17025.
Now, let's altercate these 25 requirements:
A. Administration Requirements
1. Alignment 2. Administration arrangement 3. Document ascendancy 4. Analysis of requests, tenders and affairs 5. Subcontracting of tests and calibrations 6. Purchasing casework and food 7. Account to the chump 8. Complaints 9. Ascendancy of non-conforming testing and/or arrangement plan 10. Improvement 11. Corrective action 12. Preventive action 13. Ascendancy of annal 14. Centralized audits 15. Administration reviews.
B. Abstruse Requirements
1. Accepted 2. Cadre 3. Adaptation and ecology altitude 4. Analysis & arrangement methods and adjustment validation 5. Accessories, quality, quality control, control, 6. Measurement traceability 7. Sampling 8. Handling of analysis and arrangement items 9. Assuring the superior, quality control, of analysis & arrangement after-effects 10. Reporting the results.
The success of the accreditation affairs mainly depends on how auspiciously it is implemented, quality control, and that depends aloft the calmness of the administration i.e. how abundant committed the top administration is!, quality control, The accomplished action takes a aeon of six months. All the 25 requirements are addressed during this period, laying accent on the afterward, quality control, capital steps:
Main Steps
An Anterior Lecture. To actualize acquaintance about class accreditation a part of the lab staff, an anterior, quality control, address is delivered and a abrupt, quality control, description of all the clauses is given.
Preparation of Superior Arrangement Documentation (QSD). The Superior Manual, Superior Procedures (both administration and technical), plan instructions and forms are to be prepared.
Control of Non-conforming Testing and Arrangement Work. The lab cadre are acquainted as to which all accomplishments would be all-important if a non-conforming analysis and arrangement plan is detected. The albatross for the administration of this non-conforming,, quality control, quality control, plan would be designated.
Corrective Action. Corrective action becomes all-important if annihilation amiss has happened. This is done through a Corrective Action Request (CAR) form. The accomplishing of such accomplishments is followed through a Corrective Action Log (CAL) anatomy which contains a account of these accomplishments in an abbreviated anatomy for reminding the administration rep of the lab to chase the advance apropos such actions.
Preventive Action. As against to the Corrective Action, Preventive Action is taken to avert the achievability of any affair traveling wrong.
Internal Audits. It's a accurate actuality that centralized audits act as a adipose for the superior administration arrangement of a lab. The added a lab is subjected to centralized audits, the added its systems become stable. For administering centralized audits, a accumulation of appropriately called cadre of the lab, say four to six in number, may be accomplished as centralized auditors. The conduct of centralized audits would be a planned action and has to be taken seriously.
Management reviews, quality, quality control, control, . Through Administration Reviews, we ascendancy the absolute action of superior administration throughout the lab. The administration analysis affairs accept to be abounding by the arch of the alignment or the lab.
Accommodation and Ecology Conditions. It agency that adaptation and ecology altitude of the lab in which tests and calibrations are conducted should be appropriate.
Methods. Adapted methods would be acclimated by the lab, finer those methods which accept been appear in international, bounded or civic standards. Latest, accurate copy of the accustomed would be used. The lab shall validate methods area necessary.
Equipment. The accessories shall be operated by accustomed cadre and would be calibrated afore getting placed into service. The analysis and arrangement accessories shall be safeguarded from adjustments.
Reporting the Results. The after-effects shall be appear in a analysis address or arrangement affidavit and they will be appear accurately, acutely and actually in accordance with the instructions in the, quality control, analysis or arrangement methods.
Review of abstracts by Accreditation Body. Once a lab confirms that it is accessible for accreditation to ISO 17025, it approaches one of the accreditation bodies for its assessment. The accreditation physique asks for the abstracts of this lab for accustomed out an absolute check.
Pre-assessment. The abstracts are arrested by the accreditation physique and beatific aback to the class afterwards check. The credibility / observations fabricated, quality control, by the accreditation physique are bound and accreditation physique is abreast by the lab. Then, the class requests the accreditation physique to conduct a final appraisal of the, quality control, lab.
Final Assessment. The accreditation, quality control, physique conducts a final appraisal of the lab. If the physique finds that the lab conforms to all the 25 requirements of the accustomed (ISO 17025), it is recommended for final appraisal and the lab is accredited.
Comparison with ISO 9001:2000 A catechism about comes to the apperception of the people: If a class wish to get accreditation, quality control, as per ISO 17025, will it aswell accept to get ISO 9001:2000 certification? The acknowledgment is a big NO! ISO 9001:2000 covers alone administration requirements admitting ISO 17025 covers both administration as able-bodied as abstruse requirements. Hence, if a lab is ISO 17025, it needn't be certified to ISO 9001:2000 as administration requirements are included in ISO 17025.
Benefits
By implementing ISO 17025, afterward allowances would accrue:-
The processes of the lab would be qualified.
The agents alive in the lab would be appropriately accomplished and competent.
An organised centralized analysis affairs will annihilate, quality control, all the bugs in the alive of the laboratory.
The lab would be using accurate methods.
The responsibilities and authorities of the cadre in the lab will be acutely allocated.
As able sampling would be in vogue, there would be no charge of resorting to afresh sampling which will save time, money and efforts.
As all systems would be streamlined, chump complaints will be bargain and ability will increase.
By accustomed out accomplishment testing, the audience will accept added aplomb in the after-effects of the lab.
Conclusion. Accreditation, quality control, of the laboratories is an assured claim these days. It is a accept to for the actuality of their results. By using the casework of an accustomed lab, there would be no charge for a applicant to analysis the account afresh in his own country. If a lab is accredited, it agency that it would be using calibrated equipment;, quality control, its methods would be accurate and the superior of tests and calibrations would be maintained. The after-effects would be accurately appear and would be authentic. Regular, quality control, anniversary assessments would accumulate the lab on clue and its ability would be maintained. Last but not the least: the lab would accompany the aristocratic accumulation of the accustomed laboratories of the world!

Keys to Project Success - Using Audits and Reviews as a Best Project Management Practice
Author: Nick Pangaro

In recent, quality control, years, many companies are putting increased emphasis on project management techniques as a result of lessons learned on past project performance. After experiencing project delays, overruns, missed quality goals, communication barriers, "scope creep", and a general perception of projects being out of control, these companies are scrambling to implement good Project Management practices to prevent these types of problems. As part of these best practices, many companies have established project review and audit programs, periodically reviewing the status of projects and their alignment with individual and corporate goals. While worthwhile, in many cases these reviews and audits are performed by senior managers with either a stake in the project outcome or no real experience and training in project management, quality control, . Several companies have found that these management reviews have not succeeded because senior management and project managers may be speaking a different language and viewing the projects from completely different perspectives.
Audits and reviews require preparation to be fruitful. Pre-defined project review and audit protocols can help focus both the project manager and the reviewer/auditor on the important aspects of the project. Basing these protocols on proven, quality control, philosophies from the Project Management Institute (PMIฎ), the world's foremost authority for the project management profession, can provide great, quality control, insight into the actual status of the project. This provides the opportunity to take actions at the most efficient points in project execution, increasing the probability, quality control, of project success.
We've found that the most effective audits are centered on the project management knowledge areas as defined by PMIฎ, quality control, . We have also found that effective project reviews, quality control, and audits involve much more than just sitting down with the project manager and asking a series of questions. Interviews with project team members, stakeholders, and senior management as well as a thorough review of all project related documentation are just as critical to producing effective results.
Compliance with Project Management Processes
A defined set of project management processes provides consistency in project management methodology across all projects. This facilitates program management, allows for the interchangeability of resources, and increases the probability of project success. Audits should closely, quality control, examine compliance of the project procedures with the enterprise's Project Management Processes. Blind adherence to these procedures, however, without allowance for the specifics of the project, may introduce inefficiencies and stifle the creativity or flexibility, quality, quality control, control, needed to bring a project to a successful conclusion.
Controlling Scope
Scope change, without complimentary adjustments to the project schedule, budget, and objectives, is a the major reason for schedule slippage and project overruns. Adherence to change control procedures is necessary to identify and prevent inappropriate addition of "out of scope" items to the project, and limit scope creep. Audits should target Scope Management as a major factor in overall project performance in order to prevent unnecessarily increasing the project's size without correspondingly increasing the project's value.
Compliance with the Project Charter
The project charter defines in broad terms the project targets and how project success will be measured. It essentially, quality control, serves as the prime focus of all project efforts. Projects can easily get off track by ignoring the project charter, resulting in both schedule and budget problems.
Cost
Project cost impacts all other aspects of the project. Proper estimating and tracking of budgets is essential to controlling costs on a project. Understanding the budgetary state of a project, quality control, can impact all decisions made during project execution and design. Audits should focus on the two most critical aspects of cost control - estimating and tracking. Estimating factors include the methodologies used to determine project costs and cost constraints, resource planning and assumptions made during the estimating process. Tracking factors include the mechanism used to track costs and methodologies used in determining project cost status.
Time
Proper time management is critical to meeting important project deadlines and attaining time-to-market goals. Carefully defining project activities, sequencing them properly, estimating resources and time for each, and developing the schedule are all critical phases of the planning process. Audits and reviews should focus on compliance with time management processes- Were activities defined and sequenced properly? How were estimates determined? And what mechanisms are being used to monitor, quality control, adherence and control the schedule?
Communication
Numerous studies of project performance indicate that communication is the Number 1 problem encountered by project managers; consequently proper communication is vital to, quality control, the success of a project. With this level of importance, audits and reviews should focus heavily on the Project Manager's communications procedures and capabilities, overcoming barriers to communications within the company, and, quality control, the efficiency of mechanisms used for communications - Are stakeholders being kept appraised of the information they need to know for the project to be successful?
Risk
Recognizing and managing risk is critical to project success. Anticipating and planning for risk events increases the probability and impact of positive events,, quality control, and decrease the probability and impact of events adverse to the project. Audits should focus on the project's plans for preventing problems and planning responses to problems that can not be prevented.
Quality
Quality is the key to customer satisfaction, and managing customer expectations is a key to project success. Audits and reviews should focus on your approach to product delivery - is prevention stressed over inspection? Is quality built in or inspected in? Are all members of the team (including management) participants in the quality, quality control, process?, quality control,
Human Resources
Aligning project objectives, quality control, with the goals and motivations of the project team is an important part of the successful completion of any project. Defining and communicating the roles and responsibilities of management, team members and other stakeholders on the project is essential. Project audits should focus on the critical aspects of, quality control, HR management - Is the project properly staffed? Are the team members meshing so the whole, quality control, is greater than the sum of the parts?, quality control, Are the roles of the members, quality control, understood? Are there motivational problems?

The Management Leader
Author: Gaylen Thornton
Source: ezinearticles.com
Management and leadership, are they the,, quality control, quality control, same or different? The topic has been discussed, debated, and argued over for many years. In the past the terms were used interchangeably in business but in recent years there has developed a clear definition and function for each role.
EM Kelly said, "Remember the difference, quality control, between a boss and a leader; a boss says 'GO!' - a leader says, "Let's go." That is an apt description of the role of a manager, quality control, and leader.
Managers have subordinates and receive authority when the company entrusts them with their management position. By the nature of their roles, the subordinates follow the manager's directives. Managers focus on tactile activities and most times have a more directive, quality control, and controlling approach. This is not a negative trait, being able to organize people to accomplish tasks is an asset to an organization. Managers are paid to get things accomplished and they pass this on, quality control, to those in their charge.
One trait that will help managers to accomplish, quality control, their responsibility is a positive attitude towards those they manage. There is nothing wrong with a pleasant good-natured approach to people and problems. One-reason managers do not use it more often is that under pressure of business people sometimes take themselves to seriously. They start to think about there problems and feelings and forget about others they manage. Another reason managers do not use a positive and pleasant attitude under, quality control, pressure is the myth they believe that a manager must be gruff or grumpy in order to appear firm and decisive and to get things done. The grumpy, gruff, dictator, quality control, manager, quality control, soon loses respect of those he needs to accomplish the work. A manager can be firm and decisive with a smile on their face and a pleasant attitude and be just as convincing once the people learn that the manager means what they say and sticks to it.
Leaders can be organizations managers and have those characteristics but they need an additional set of skills Leaders do not have subordinates, at least not when they are leading. A leader must give up formal authoritarian control when leading because following is always a voluntary activities.
Telling people what to do does not "inspire" people to follow. Leaders appeal to people and show them how to follow and perhaps take risks in situations they, quality control, normally would not do. Excellent leadership skills are innate and therefore harder to learn. One trait that every outstanding leader has is the ability to check, quality control, their ego at the door. They are more concerned with the people they lead and giving them credit for the success and taking the blame when things do not go as planned.
If you think of several of the best leaders you have worked for they all have, quality control, traits in common in addition to giving credit and praise to employees, some of these characteristics are;
Being approachable and easy to talk to always having time for you and listening intently, caring about what was being verbalized.
They rarely became excited or angry at a situation, and they remained positive in the face of adversity and did not let the situation change their outlook.
They showed a consideration for the feelings of the people who worked for them.
Being able to communicate the goals and objective clearly and concisely and obtaining agreement going forward.
Can a manager be a leader or a leader be a manager at the same time? Yes, it is possible for this to happen. Peter Drucker, the outstanding management guru said, "Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right thing." This tells us that there are two different skill, quality control, sets needed to be both and they must work together. It is possible for an individual to have both, but it is a rare combination blended together. Keep in mind, there is an abundance of manager in business but very few embody the characteristics of a leader.
