Portersville, PA โ€" January 3, 2003 โ€" Light clips, hooks and other holiday accessory products are supposed to make decorating, quality control, for the holidays a little less stressful, and a lot more enjoyable. Adams Manufacturing has discovered, quality control, through extensive testing that some products have the potential to damage interior and exterior surfaces, and Adams is presenting their findings in a โ€œFirst, Do No Harm โ„ขโ€ promotional campaign launched in December, 2002.

Adams Manufacturing is the largest USA-made supplier of hooks, fasteners and clips used in holiday decorating, and is the world's largest manufacturer of suction cups. During new product development, Adams performs thorough, quality control, quality testing, anticipating and then simulating potentially damaging scenarios in order to prevent unnecessary damage or expense to the homeowner. Bill Adams, the President, quality control, and founder of Adams Manufacturing, takes a key role in this quality testing, often suggesting testing procedures, quality control, and directly working with designers to make Adams products as safe as possible. โ€œWe take a hard look at what happens when a consumer installs one of our products.โ€ Bill Adams explains. โ€œWe not only want a product that works well, we want a product that protects the consumer and their property. Over the years, we've taken a cue from the Physician's Oath, and adopted the phrase โ€œFirst, Do No Harmโ€ as the philosophy behind everything we do.โ€

One dramatic example used in Adams' recently launched โ€œFirst, Do No Harmโ€ campaign focuses, quality control, on thick over-door wreath hooks, and how they can potentially gouge wood or scratch painted doors and doorjambs. Other examples used in the campaign present evidence of even more costly damage to vinyl siding or roof, quality control, shingles that could occur with the use of poorly designed siding clips, quality control, and roof clips currently on the market.

โ€œIt was shocking,โ€ Bill Adams adds, โ€œwhen we discovered that other companies in our industry were not concerned with the possibility of damage. We felt we had to set ourselves apart and get the message across that protecting customers is our top priority. In my experience, this type of detailed quality control information hasn't always been presented to retail buyers. It's important to them because they're the ones facing unnecessary returns, and possibly even negative consumer response associated with their store. Retailers need to know that Adams provides the safest products, and they need a way to communicate this to their customers.โ€

The โ€œFirst, Do No Harmโ€ campaign began with the current Adams 2003 Christmas catalog, and the theme will be carried through direct mail promotional pieces, store signage, point of purchase displays and package graphics. Adams will continue the campaign for their other product lines, which include everyday hooks and fasteners, lawn and garden accessories and the complete line of Quik-Foldยฎ Furniture.

The Adams Christmas accessory line includes All-Purpose light clips, a variety of wreath hangers, candle holders, and suction cups, plus other indoor and outdoor, quality control, fasteners such as light stakes, garland ties,, quality control, and safety stocking hangers. Adams products can be found in most stores where Christmas lights are sold.
